Training Excellence

The Clinical Psychology program trains mental health professional in a variety of therapy and assessment techniques with an emphasis on adults and couples. The program offers specialized training in behavior therapy and cognitive behavior therapy for a range of disorders in all populations and is affiliated with the Council of Applied Masters' Programs in Psychology (CAMPP).

Marriage and Family Therapy provides the graduate student with training in family and marital therapy that focuses on couples and families working together to solve systemic problems. The program is accredited by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and has been designated as the Model Program for masters-level training in family therapy for higher education in Texas.

The School Psychology program provides supervised experience and training in assessing and remediating child and adolescent psychoeducational, behavioral, and social-emotional problems. Trainees learn to combine psychological and educational evaluations with parent and school consultation. The program is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and was the first accredited specialist-level program in school psychology in Texas.

The Health Service Psychology doctoral program (PsyD) provides supervised experience and training in advanced assessment, consultation, and treatment techniques for children, adolescents, and adults with complex presentations.
