Student Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (SDEI) events are usually free and don't require pre-registration. We encourage you to enhance your cultural knowledge and participate!

Experience drag culture at UHCL's first ever Drag Show. The event will include drag performers from Houston and San Antonio, Texas, and will feature a resource fair of Houston area organizations that support and affirm transgender individuals.

Cultural Extravaganza

Join us for the 23 annual Cultural Extravaganza. The evening's program will highlight performances and food representing various cultures of UHCL students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding Houston community.

Do We Still Need Feminism?
3 p.m.
Garden Room
Join Campus Activities Board and Empower: Women's Leadership as they discuss modern-day feminism. There will be two discussions, followed by a panel. The first discussion will focus on race and feminism, specifically defining and addressing the issue of "white feminism". This will be facilitated by Dr. Andrea Baldwin. The second discussion will focus on LGBTQ+ and feminism, and will be facilitated by Associate Dean of Students, Iliana Melendez. Finally, there will be a panel of feminists to answer any questions about their experience with feminism, including Associate Dean of Students, Iliana Melendez, UHCL student, Annette Collins, Director of SDEI, Aliya Beavers, and Director of Student Housing and Residence Life, Matthew Perry.
