Enrollment at University of Houston-Clear Lake

Enroll for Classes

Take a step closer to making your educational dreams a reality by enrolling for classes each semester of the academic year you want to attend University of Houston-Clear Lake. Enrollment will be completed online through E-Services.

You can also refer to the Academic Calendar for relevant registration dates and deadlines.

  How to Enroll in Classes at UHCL
 

When it's time to enroll in classes for the upcoming semester, you will be contacted by the Office of the Registrar with specific times and instructions.

Before you enroll, you can view the Class Schedule to see what's available.

E-Services Login

To Add a Class

View "Add a Class" Help Document

  • Log into E-Services with your Student ID and Password.
  • Select the "Academic Records" icon.
  • Select "Enrollment: Add Classes."
  • Select a term to enroll.
  • Select "Class Search" drop-down menu OR Enter the "Class Nbr," if you know it.
  • Select your preferred time and section of the class. If required, enter the "Permission Nbr" in appropriate field.
  • The class you selected will appear in your shopping cart. Click "Proceed to Step 2 of 3" to confirm your selection.
  • Select "Finish Enrolling." You should now see the class successfully added to your schedule.

To Drop a Class

  • Log into E-Services with your Student ID and Password.
  • Select "Academic Records."
  • Select "Enrollment: Drop Classes."
  • Select the applicable semester.
  • Select the class you want to drop. Click "Drop Selected Classes."
  • Confirm you have selected the right class to drop. Click "Finish Dropping."
  • Confirm you have dropped the class.

View Your Class Schedule

Once you have enrolled in classes for an upcoming semester, it's important to check what you're taking to confirm your class schedule matches your life schedule and education goals.

  • Log into E-Services with your Student ID and Password.
  • Select "Academic Records."
  • Select "My Class Schedule."
  • Review the classes you’ve signed up for next semester as well as this current semester. If you need to then add or drop a class, refer to the instructions and links also on this page.
  Speak with an Adviser
 

If you require assistance and insight into choosing the right courses for your education, we recommend scheduling time with an academic adviser.

  • If you are a new Freshman or a continuing UHCL student, you will need to contact the college for your degree program to connect with your assigned adviser. Utilize the Navigate App to schedule an appointment.
  • If you are a new undergraduate student transferring to UHCL, you will need to connect with a transfer adviser. Schedule an appointment through E-Services, by selecting the "Advising" tile.
  • If you are a graduate student, you will need to connect with your graduate adviser or faculty.

Instruction Modes for Spring 2021

As UHCL opens Early and Open Registration for the spring 2021 term, we will continue offering instruction in our four flexible learning options begun in the fall 2020. Academic Affairs worked with faculty to create these modes with a focus on creating a safe learning environment. We will maintain this approach for the spring 2021 term.

Bimodal

A class or laboratory that has a safe number of students in a socially distanced face-to-face room with lectures/lab content provided in another format to allow participation in the class remotely.

Online - Asynchronous

A class that has no face-to-face interactions or required virtual meeting times. The class is completed fully online.

Online - Synchronous

A class that has no face-to-face interactions but does meet at a particular day and time in a virtual classroom as indicated on the class schedule. The class is completed fully online and lectures may be recorded to view them at a later time. There are consistent expectations for specific day/time participation throughout the semester.

Online - Synchronous / Asynchronous

A class that has no face-to-face interactions but does occasionally meet on a particular day and time in a virtual classroom as indicated on the class schedule. The class is completed fully online and lectures may be recorded to view them at a later time. While course requirements will have flexibility, there will be some expectations for specific day/time participation.

Additional Enrollment Information

Registration is not complete until tuition and fees have been paid in full. If tuition and fees payments are not received by stated deadlines, payment will be considered late.
