Teacher Education Program Application


All Teacher Education Program Application Documents must be submitted online through the proper TEP Blackboard Workgroup. Please read additional information and instructions below.

Applying for the Undergraduate TEP Program

Admission to the Undergraduate Initial Certification Teacher Education Program (TEP) at UH-Clear Lake requires that students be enrolled at University of Houston-Clear Lake in the College of Education, College of Human Sciences and Humanities (HSH), or College of Science and Engineering (CSE) as "certification seeking."

Please review the Undergraduate TEP Admission Requirements, Instructions, and Process (PDF) document for all requirements and steps to apply to the program.

Apply to the program by completing the online Undergraduate TEP Application in Qualtrics and submitting all other required documentation in the COE Undergraduate Teacher Education Program Admission Blackboard workgroup. Follow the Undergraduate TEP Admissions Blackboard Instructions (PDF) to self-enroll in the workgroup and upload all your required documents. 

Please note that the first time you access the TEP application workgroup, you will be required to complete a statement acknowledging that you have read and agree to abide by the COE Professional Dispositions. Once this is completed, you will be given access to the application portion of the course.

Be sure to following the guidelines and rubric for completing your TEP application essay as outlined in the Undergraduate TEP Admission Requirements, Instructions, and Process (PDF) document.

Application Processing

After completion and submission of the TEP Application and supporting documents, please allow up to 10 business days for the COE Certification Office to process the application. If you are missing any information or your application is denied or pending, the COE Certification Office will contact you.  

When approved, you will receive an email from the office verifying your admission. You will then need to "ACCEPT" your admission with a response email. Upon being admitted to TEP, you will be able to register for the pedagogy (teaching) courses listed on your degree/certification plan. Admission to the Post-Bacc or Teaching MAT TEP Program at UH-Clear Lake requires that students be enrolled at University of Houston-Clear Lake in the College of Education, College of Human Sciences and Humanities (HSH), or College of Science and Engineering (CSE) as "certification seeking."

Apply to the program by completing the online PB-MAT TEP Application in Qualtrics and submitting all required documentation to the COE PB-MAT Teacher Education Program Admission Blackboard workgroup. Follow the PB-MAT TEP Admissions Blackboard Instructions (PDF) to self-enroll in the workgroup and upload all your required documents.
