Maintain the equipment and facilities necessary to support UHCL's teaching, research and community service goals
Introduction
The building maintenance team comprises a number of skilled employees who perform routine maintenance and repairs to building systems, maintain the appearance of campus building interiors with carpentry and painting, service university vehicles and complete renovation projects.
Fleet Management Services
FMC is responsible for all scheduled maintenance, and emergency service of UHCL vehicles. The FMC automotive shop (extension 2246) is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Departments with assigned vehicles are responsible for providing all service information and fuel usage from outside vendors to FMC. This includes receipts and service tickets. FMC is responsible for reporting the information to the State and accurate information is required. When refueling at FMC, accurate mileage must be entered into the fueling station as this is also a record reported to the State.
Mechanic
- Maintains and services all university vehicles
- Inputs data for compliance with State reporting guidelines for vehicles
To request the use of an FMC vehicle, an Interdepartmental Vehicle User Agreement form must be completed and drivers must be approved and on the UHCL insurance.
